About
Hiya! I’m Rochelle, a florist with over 1o years of industry experience and a desire to always grow and evolve.
In 2020 I decided I wanted to broaden my horizons so I began studying graphic design whilst living in London. I returned home to Melbourne and in 2022 completed my Certificate III in Design.
I spent a year working in agencies specialising in branding but missed the connection I felt with people through my world of floristry. This inspired me to bring my two worlds together, offering a one-on-one service for clients looking for flowers or graphic design projects where their ideas and input are valued and at the forefront of the designs.
I love to listen and problem-solve, using floristry and graphic design to express emotion. Both skills are visual communication tools I use to make people feel seen and heard while spreading a little joy.
Working between Melbourne and London has exposed me to many different styles of design which I have explored and experimented with. I have found that my natural style of floristry and graphic design is playful, purposeful, and not forced. I like to give elements space to do their thing and my designs are led by intuition and not trends.
Working in design allows me to learn about others while having meaningful interactions in my daily life and that’s the stuff that fuels me.
The work I have always found most meaningful has been flowers for funerals. I enjoy hearing the story of a loved one and doing my very best to offer some peace to their family.
Through careful curation of materials, I think of the person who has passed away and the love they gave throughout their lives and place every flower with the highest amount of care, paying respect to them and their grieving families.
Through my own experience, I have seen how memorial flowers can ease a fraction of the pain felt on the day of a funeral. The flowers can give those attending something beautiful to admire as they reflect on their lost loved one, seeing them in every chosen element.
Graphic Design has been an extension of my interest in business, creativity and conceptual thinking.
I enjoy conversations where I get to poke and prod to understand what’s at the core of a brand or project. What’s the meaning? Who is it for? Why was it started? What’s the feeling? What’s the purpose?
I love the journey from concept to output, creating a design that truly represents the core message and helps a business to grow.
If you’re interested in working with me or want to know more, I’m always down for a chat.
